Overton 5 2025
The 36th edition of the Overton 5 is open!
The race will be held on the 7th September 2025 with a new start time of 10.30am forming part of the 2025/26 Hampshire Road Race League.
We welcome runners of all abilities, whether you are a seasoned runner or someone looking to build on their 5k time and looking for your next challenge, the Overton 5 race is for you.

The course goes through the beautiful country roads surrounding Overton, taking in many rolling hills and landscapes that were enjoyed by Jane Austen, which provided much inspiration to many of her early novels.
This year is also the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen, why not enjoy the Jane Austen walking trail after the race which starts in Overton and takes in her childhood home and local church. Routes can be found here: https://overtonparishcouncil.gov.uk/overton-jane-austen-trails/
The course is on fully closed roads and as with the past editions of the race, plastic free.
Entry is £22 for Non EA affiliated runners and £20 for those that are.
For 2025 we are delighted to have a fantastic race memento for all finishers, every runner deserves a reward after braving the Overton hills.
To be guaranteed a race memento you must enter by 28th July, after this date entrants will only receive a memento if there are any left.
Fun For All The Family
The Overton event encourages runners to bring along their families and friends, in addition to the main race we will have:
– A kids races on the field at race HQ before the Overton 5 and entry to the kids races is free.
– Tea / Coffee / Cakes and Bacon Sandwiches on sale from the local Scouts at the Race HQ.
– An Ice-Cream Van at the Race HQ for a post race treat.
– A fully licensed bar, if you need a slightly stronger post race reward.

Course Details
The five mile race is on fully closed or traffic managed roads that show off the wonderful countryside around Overton.
The start is a short 10-15 minute walk (ideal 5-9 minute warm up run) from the finish and Race HQ and this will be sign posted the day. The detailed course map and elevation profile are below:
