Overton Harriers – About Us

Formed in 1974 Overton Harriers are a running club based out of the village of Overton, in the heart of Hampshire.

Although smaller than some of the more famous clubs in the area Overton Harriers prides itself in remaining both competitive and inclusive to runners of all ages and abilities

Road Running

Our most popular discipline, with many of our members competiting in the Hampshire Road Race League, a series of races across Hampshire from September to July

Cross Country

From October to February a chance for our members to get muddy and wet in both the Hampshire Cross County League and Southern Counties Championships

Athletics

A chance to see how well you can run, throw and jump in the Southern Atheltics League and for those over 35, the Hampshire Vets League

As well as these many of our members also take part and compete in parkRuns, Ironman, Cani-X dog racing, fun runs and much much more, not only in the local area but all across the globe

Club Training


From our home at Overton Recreation Centre, Overton Harriers provides a mix of training and club races all through the year. Whether just starting out, looking to improve your fitness or times, or as an experienced runner all of our sessions allow runners to run in groups of all abilities led by our qualified coaches.
Our most popular training nights our our Monday and Thursday evening runs, with other sessions also taking place on a Tuesday and Sunday. If you wish to give us a go simply get in touch below

Monday – Social/Recovery Run

Out from the ORC a gentle run around the various routes about Overton and the local area on a mix of trail and road. Kept in a group no runner is left behind, with people running anything from 5k to around 7 miles

Thursday – Club Training

Our most popular club night. A mix of intervals, fartlek, hills and club races all designed to improve your running and fitness. Warming up from the ORC our qualified coaches explain the session and location before starting

Membership

We know that joining a running club can be daunting, and that it is not a decision to be made quickly. At Overton Harriers we are more than happy for potential new members to come along, try a few sessions completely free of charge, meet the coaches and other members and make sure the club is right for you. Simply drop us an email to try us out and once you are happy the signing up process can be explained in full

Once you are a member you will be free to come along to as many sessions as you choose, enter races as an Overton Harrier, come along to our many social events and enjoy all the other perks our membership brings
